Listed Public Utilities Company (Corporate Finance, Current Assignment)
Our client was facing an industry-wide paradigm shift in their business
and operating models. They urgently required a holistic and robust
analysis of whether to accept or reject this paradigm shift.
Concurrently, their existing business model and operating parameters
did not provide them with satisfactory financial results either. As a
result, they requested BinaFikir to thoroughly assess the merits and
de-merits of the transition, whether to accept or oppose the
transition, and if they were to accept such a transition, to establish
precisely how such a transition can be executed successfully.
To execute such an endeavour, we had to build and develop, a robust,
highly granular yet flexible bespoke financial model to assess the
impact of various risk factors associated with the current and future
business models on key financial parameters, such as shareholder value
and shareholders' returns. We then utilised this model extensively for
an exhaustive analysis together with an in-depth strategic review of
industry developments; based on these evaluations, an appropriate
business model was recommended.
The client were pleased with our recommendation and have requested that
we be re-appointed to execute the recommendations. Our client is a
listed public utilities company which is majority owned by a non-GLC
listed company with diversified interests ranging from construction,
property development and power.
