Zain Bador joined BinaFikir in March 2010 as a Director of Strategic Advisory at Maybank IB. Zain has over 14 years of local and regional experience in banking, advisory, principal investment and debt capital markets.

Prior to BinaFikir, he held the position of Director and South East Asia Leader for Deloitte’s global Islamic Finance practice, responsible for developing Deloitte’s Islamic Finance and infrastructure advisory businesses. Zain was previously Associate Director, Infrastructure, at Babcock & Brown and was involved in a number of project finance and infrastructure/Public-Private Partnership advisory assignments in ASEAN, such as SKS Power’s 2,100MW coal fired IPP in Tanjung Bin, Johor and the RSAF’s Basic Wing Course Privatisation, Singapore’s first defence sector PPP project. In 2001, he was a founding member of debtdomain Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based start-up which developed an electronic platform for distressed debt trading and syndications. Zain started his career in the Project Finance Unit of Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank (now AmInvestment Bank).

Zain holds a Bachelor of Arts in European Business Administration from the European Business School, London.
