Sharil’s Departure
It
is with a heavy heart
that we announce the departure of one of our principals, Mohamed Sharil
bin Mohamed Tarmizi. Sharil’s unbridled knowledge of and experience
in the telecommunications sector has been called to serve our beloved
nation, and thus at the request of the Government, Sharil shall assume the
role of Chief Operating Officer (‘COO’) at the
Malaysian
Communications and Multimedia Commissions (‘MCMC’).
We
understand that he shall be assuming the role of COO of MCMC
commencing from 16 June 2008.
As
a consequence of his
appointment to MCMC, Sharil ceases to be a principal and employee of
BinaFikir as of 1 June 2008, and all of his interests in the firm
shall be acquired by the existing principals as of that date. Whilst
Sharil’s departure is indeed a loss for the BinaFikir, we
recognise that it is a significant gain
for the country and therefore, we are indeed proud that one of our own
shall be an integral leader of an esteemed regulatory organisation in
Malaysia, in a
critical sector of the economy.
We
would like to
congratulate Sharil on his new appointment and wish him the best of
luck in his future endeavours. His sage wisdom, gregarious humour and indomitable passion has been
his enduring legacy here, and he will be sorely missed by the entire
BinaFikir family.
